Main Line Unitarian Church in Devon, PA
12:30 – 5:00 PM (12:30 – 1:30 Brown bag lunch; 1:30 – 5:00 workshop)
As Unitarian Universalists, we value the collective voices of the people that make up our communities. As such, we are holding a Greater Philly Cluster (GPC) Choral Workshop to help plan the mass choir repertoire for a GPC music concert next church year.
All ministers, music ministry teams, directors, choir members, and any member/friend (who’d like to sing in the mass choir) from the 14 GPC congregations are invited to the workshop. The goal of this workshop is to determine the repertoire for the mass choir in addition to forming a steering committee to help launch the first concert.
Step 1: Proposed list
Each participating congregation is asked to provide a proposed repertoire list for the mass choir to Nate and Amy by March 2nd. This will be a list of no more than 6 proposed pieces. Nate will review and comment on the lists to help eliminate duplication and encourage broad exposure.
Step 2: Individual registration
We are asking each workshop attendee to register below by March 23 for materials and room setup purposes. However, late registrations and walk-ins are accepted.
Step 3: Pieces to perform at workshop
Each congregation’s choir is invited to bring one or two pieces that they will sing at the workshop. Choirs are encouraged to bring stand-alone pieces or sections from a larger work. The workshop will also include group music-making led by Nate.
After the singing, we will have time for small group discussion and fellowship, and will create a steering committee, which will confirm the concert details.
